On the upside, I have cute toes.....

So my favorite phrase at work is......" on the upside, I have cute toes ". This is funny because I work with 5 guys. (They are very supportive) It's always a good conversation piece and gives us all something to laugh at. This is just one of my most recent toe nail decorations. I have acutally never gotten my nails done in a salon but Callee and I went last saturday for a little R and R from the families and we had our toe nails done. ( I am now addicted) I love them. I have been told I need to find a hobby. I guess if I had time for a hobby, this would be it. I love to decorate my toe nails my favorite color of toe nail polish is HOT PINK. I love that they don't have to match your outfit, it's sort of like a subtle rebellion.

You really haven't lived till........

You have had a water party with 9 six year olds. That is life at it's best. T Ball season has wrapped up and to celebrate we had the team party friday night.(6-27-2008) We BBQ'd hot dogs, ate watermelon and had burping contests from strawberry lemonade. I tried to do organized water games, but apparently they were tired of listening to me. A couple of games and then it turned into complete chaos. There were water balloons, squirt guns, and then the hose. I think the highlight was when I was underneath the deck filling a squirt gun and Mike dropped a HUGE pot of water on my head. There was about 3 seconds of dead silence, followed by a blood curlding scream it was very very cold. Once I screamed they all started screaming and laughing I think we brought a whole new level of noise to the neighborhood. We had a lot of fun. The night ended with double ice cream sandwhiches, a bag of candy, a ball signed by all the team players and a trophy. The boys worked really hard and I was really proud of them. The season kept us really busy. We played 18 games in 2 months and practiced once or twice a week. Our last game was on wednesday (6-25-08) they played really good. As a good coach my advice for the last game of the season was.... "pretend like you learned something this season, and act like you can play the game." They did very well. We had 15 outs that game. More than the whole season combined. T Ball was awesome!! I will be glad to get my evenings back (for a week or two anyway, we start soccer season soon) but i will miss the team!!! GO ANGELS !!

Fourteen Years

June 9th marked our 14th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a nice long day at work followed by taking the kids to Applebees for dinner. Cleaned out the downstairs bedroom, put the kids to bed, paid some bills and called it a night. I know what your all thinking Mike must have forgotten, but NO it was me, his loser wife. Sorry Honey does the phrase "it's just enough to be with you help? " I know wives aren't suppose to be passive on this sort of thing but I guess Mike's a lucky guy. (ha ha ha) Who knew we'd make it this far? I know a lot of people who are amazed! But not me. I knew I could torture you this long. It's been an amazing journey. Thank you for the amazing life you give me and the kids!

Tag your it............

Well since the reason I started this blog was to brag about my kids. I will gladly play the child tag game. So to whoever reads this it's now on you. Tag your it............... blog about your kids and tell the world how great they are. (picture on left) Morgan and Thad this picture about sums up their personalities. Morgan is extremely shy till she gets to know you but once she does watch out. Morgan is my free spirit. She loves to laugh, she is very independant and wonders why she has parents. She is very stubborn and knows what she wants! She is very good at athletics, she's a natural when it comes to playing sports. She loves to ride her bike. She loves to make money by doing chores around the house. She loves to torment Thaddeus. Morgan's favorite color is green. She loves the movie hairspray. And she loves to catch bugs out side. Morgan is most like her mom (exclude the atheletics her mom has no talent what soever) Morgan's best friend is Heather Hart. Morgan loves Heather, the two together are very destructive, they can make a mean potion ( I am sure to rid the world of parents), they'll pick the neighbors flowers and bring them home. They never hide the evidence because they are sure they've done nothing wrong. I love how they both love life and aren't afraid to try new things. Thaddeus, he is mommies little boy. Thaddeus loves to be with his Mom and Dad. This past sunday we were sitting in sacrament meeting and I looked at Thad's hand he had written mom with a heart. I started laughing and told Mike that he was going to be the boy who has the I love mom tattoo on his shoulder. He wants to be a firefighter by day and a cop by night. He thinks the ultimate job would be, to be a firefighter who can carry a gun and arrest people. Thad loves to play star wars wii with his Dad and Micah. He has no patience for teaching the game to anyone. (sorry Ethan and Mason) Thad loves to play cars, jump on the tramp, and he loves to watch on demand t.v. shows that include: Fireman Sam and Bob the builder, among many other. Thad loves to clown around and make everyone laugh. Thad loves his sisters and reacts perfectly to Morgan's tormenting ways. Micah is the oldest and true to form. She is the 2nd mother and often times better than the first. She is very protective of Morgan and Thad and will usually do anything they ask. Micah is very responsible. She gets good grades and works hard in school. She is getting ready to embark on Jr. High. (That makes me old) Although she is usually nervous about trying new things she is always willing to try anything once. Micah loves to text her friends. Her favorite color changes but I think it's red right now. She loves to watch Live Free, Die Hard. She is very talented at the piano. She loves to play guitarr hero. And she loves to hang with her Mom. I hope that never changes. I often tell her she is going to hate me, it's the teenage way. She always assures me she won't. (I hope she's right) Micah is the most like her Dad, hard working, smart, and dedicated. So that is my 3 absolutely fabulous kids. I can't say enough about them they are all such individuals with personalities all their own. They are all absolutely amazing, talented, incredible, beautiful, and handsome kids that are my life!

Stihl Lumberjack Contest

Wow! What a day. Mike and I both took a friday off of work and we took the kids to the Stihl Lumberjack competition at Thanksgiving point. We had a great day! The kids were all able to make plaster bird paw prints. They painted their faces, and ate a lot of junk food. We spent from 1:00p.m. till 7:30 p.m.. Each of us had our favorite parts of the competition. Mike, loved the hot saws. Morgan loved Rick, an older gentleman who was participating in the events. She was devastated when we could not find him afterwards for an autograph. Micah liked the boom run. Thaddeus loved his new chain saw that he got, and he also liked the hot saws. I liked the photographic moments and I liked watching the fall after the log climb. It was a great day together. I know Mike would kill me if he knew I posted this picture of him but thank goodness he doesn't read my blog. I loved this picture. Most of you only see the serious side of him and this is the side of him that comes out when we are just hanging out having a great day. This was a perfect day we'll not forget.

34 Min 41 Sec

Today, 6-8-2008 was the John D. Hawkes Memorial 5K Walk/Run. This event was in memory of Ruth Greensides father who passed away from Parkinsons disease. Our whole family entered to run the race. On Monday of this week myself, (Val) and the kids decided we would go out and practice for the race. Morgan and Thaddeus made it maybe 1 mile and they were done, Micah and myself made it just about 2 miles and we were done. So the practice run not being quite up to par I was really worried about the actual day of the event. But apparently I had no reason to worry. When the race started Morgan was off and running. She started out pulling Micah because she wanted to go faster. She gave up on us and found a good running partner, her Aunt Andra and the two of them were off. Morgan ran the race in 34 min and 41 seconds. She ran the entire first mile before she stopped at all. She ran the race 6 minutes faster than Mike and I. (course Mike was just nice and waited for his wife. I am sure he could have ran it faster than that.) Amazing. Morgan took first place in her age group. Thaddeus ran 2 miles and then stopped to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa Greensides who were at the 2 mile water station. And Micah, stopped and rested for a bit there and then ended up finishing the race with Aunt Megan. It was a great experience. We enjoyed it right up till this afternoon when the muscles started aching. Aunt Andra said she was sure that Morgan could have made the race faster had she quit talking. Apparently during her 34 min jaunt she talked the entire time. Andra said all she could do was say uh-huh because she was too out of breath to carry her part of the conversation. We were proud of the kids. They all did an awesome job. This was a great experience, and we would have had a great photo of the entire family to share if I hadn't deleted the pictures from the camera before I realized I hadn't downloaded them all. Oh well Micah assured me there would be another year for a photo and she's right. We will make this an annual race for the family. I am sure by next year Morgan will run it once and then come back to find us a 2nd go round.
